I love the smell of burning oil rigs in the morning...or anything else that can burn...

It is made up of photos of an old mercury mine - we visited the mine and it was fascinating and thankfully there doesn't seem to have been too much damage done to the miners

yeah I knew it was one but put me a little in mind of them


you know I never really thought about how we get Mercury
the term "Mad as a Hatter" was from hatters suffering from Mercury poisoning
but not sure exactly how  whether fumes or skin penetration ,..was used it hat making somehow
dye's maybe...have to look it up again

I use to play with it as a kid
in school they let you handle it in science on a lecture about it
but I dont think they do now!

Yes we used to do experiments with it too :D I think it is absorbed through the skin but not sure

yeah probably on mercury
still there was so much we just dont know like lead and even
here till like nearly the 20th century we had lead pipes

anyway glad some people are on the ball :)

I can upload the part of the background that consists of my photos (sky, water and buildings) i.e. without the flames and smoke ? That any help?
